At Bunker Hill Community College students may choose from a degree or a certificate program. The two-year Associate of Science degree (A.S.) in Hospitality Management will help you make the most of a career in the fast-paced field of food, beverage and lodging services. One-year certificate program is also available. Through the internship program, the program prepares students to become leaders with the ability to shape the future of the hospitality industry.

The hospitality management associate degree program includes courses in front office operations, food and beverage, lodging operations, marketing, and sales and finance, and teaches key fundamental hospitality practices and principles. Students not only gain the education necessary to begin a career in the hospitality field, but have the opportunity to pursue additional educational opportunities. Students will find support, guidance, and encouragement as you pursue the career of your dreams through Bunker Hill Community College.

Career Outlook

Qualified candidates in this field are in high demand with rising wages and strong opportunities for growth. Students completing the degree could expect to enter the workforce in a hotel as a Front Desk Agent, Account Manager or Front of House Supervisor or in a restaurant as a Server or Dining Room Supervisor. Growth potential will lead to management positions.

Transferable

Students also qualify to transfer to four-year colleges or universities to pursue bachelor’s degrees.

The mission of the BHCC Hospitality Program is to provide a comprehensive understanding of hotel and restaurant operations focusing on managing in a customer-service driven environment and emphasizing communication skills and the use of technology.
