A quick guide for BHCC faculty & staff

Start with the grants office

Use this process when you have a new project idea or funding opportunity you would like to explore.

  1. Idea what problem or opportunity are you trying to address?
  2. Project outline who benefits, major activities, rough costs, and a timeline.
  3. Dean / supervisor discuss the idea before pursuing funding.
  4. Inquiry form submit the grant inquiry form and contact grants.

What you should bring

  • The need and project idea
  • Content / subject-matter expertise
  • Realistic activities and outcomes
  • Rough costs and timeline
  • Knowledge of students / program
  • Communication with your supervisor

Grants can help with

  • Building and reviewing grant budgets
  • Coordinating institutional approvals
  • Working through the proposal development process and next steps

Please loop us in before you:

  • Make a commitment  agree to a grant, subgrant, contract, scope of work, or budget with an outside organization.
  • Promise support  commit bhcc to a letter of support, mou/moa, cash match, space, staff time, or other resources.
  • Submit a proposal  send a final grant proposal to a funder on bhcc's behalf.
  • Spend grant funds  commit to a grant-funded purchase before grants management reviews and approves it.
