Science Club for Girls fosters excitement, confidence, and literacy in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) for girls and gender-expansive youth from underrepresented communities through free, experiential programs and meaningful mentorship opportunities. Livio Valenti has built a career at the intersection of scientific innovation and public-private partnerships, with a focus on expanding access to healthcare technologies. Before co-founding Terrestrial Bio, Livio worked as an economist with the United Nations, financing and implementing international development programs across Asia. Livio holds a Master of Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and bachelor's and master's degrees in economics and management from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. Things They Carried Away: A Visual Memoir of Leaving and Loss, Endurance and Self-Discovery

Oldren Romero’s Things They Carried Away: A Visual Memoir of Leaving and Loss, Endurance and Self-Discovery is an exhibition about leaving home, loss, survival, and the search for a better life. The exhibition focuses on Cuban emigration, especially during the 1990s, when thousands of Cubans took to the sea in small, often unsafe boats in the hope of reaching the United States.

Romero’s exhibition focuses on a simple question: When people have to leave home, what can they take, and what do take with them? Some people are able to pack their belongings and choose what they want to bring. Others have to leave with almost nothing. But everyone carries something, their hopes, dreams, memories, fears, and the strength it takes to begin again in a foreign place.

This workshop is for students still deciding on the major or career that’s right for them. Students will learn about the Career Planning Process, and be introduced to the six BHCC Pathways as they begin to connect their BHCC Program of Study to their career goals. Students will also use Career Coach, one of BHCC’s free career resources, where they will take the Career Coach Assessment to see what career paths are a good fit for them based on their skills and interests.

NA Grades due by 5 p.m. - Full Semester | Web (WB) classes

A student who has not attended class meetings during the first two weeks of the semester will be withdrawn from the course and receive an NA grade. More info

This workshop will focus on the first two stages of transferring: Preparing and Exploring. Students will receive an overview of statewide transfer programs and incentives, how to transfer credits, searching for colleges, and other resources to clarify the transfer process.

Recommended for students who are learning about transferring for the first time. Its never too early to begin thinking about transfer!

In this workshop, students will actively create a career plan, using MassHire 360 and Career Coach, free online resources at BHCC. Using these resources, students will be able to confirm what licensure or certifications are required, search for potential employers or transfer schools, and identify required skills for their career goal.

Each year, BHCC students are accepted to some of the most selective colleges in the nation, including Boston University, Northeastern University, Tufts University, MIT, and many others. But to get accepted, students need to take steps to challenge themselves and strategically plan. Students who maintain high academic achievement are encouraged to apply to selective institutions. This workshop will focus on the first two stages of transferring - Planning and Exploring - with emphasis on increasing your competitiveness for admissions. Topics will include searching for colleges, co-curricular involvement, networking, and how to make the most of Selective College Week.

Program for Post-Traditional Students: The REAL Program provides a full-time Tufts undergraduate education for adults seeking a Bachelor's degree. The program is intended for students who are 24 years of age or older, parents, married, veterans, or currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Financial Aid and Scholarships: Tufts proudly meets 100% of demonstrated financial need for all students ensuring that financial barriers don’t stand in the way of opportunity.

Online, correspondence, or distance-learning courses will not be accepted for Tufts credit, except for online courses taken during specific terms. However, grades from these courses will still be factored into GPA calculations.
