New students pursuing a degree at Bunker Hill Community College must complete the New Student Orientation Program. The orientation program at BHCC requires attendance at three events. The Event descriptions are below. In person and virtual options are offered for all events. You must register to attend each event.
If you are a guest student not pursuing a degree at Bunker Hill, you do not need to complete the orientation program requirement. Please visit the Guest Students page to learn how to register for courses as a non-degree student.
1. Attend a Start Now Event
Complete your financial aid process, meet with an advisor and register for classes. Register to attend a Start Now Event.
If you have questions about the Start Now Events, please contact the Admissions and Recruitment Office at admissions@bhcc.edu. If you have questions about registering for classes, please send an email to the Advising and LifeMap Office at advising@bhcc.edu.
2. Attend a Campus Connect Session
Learn how to access campus services and resources such as tutoring, veterans services, the Library, DISH food pantry, student parent services and many others. Also learn strategies for being a successful student at BHCC.
All accepted students will receive an email invitation and registration link to attend a Campus Connect Session. The invitation will be sent to the email address you used to apply to Bunker Hill Community College.
You can attend your Campus Connect session in person at the Charlestown Campus, which is recommended, or virtually.
To attend your Campus Connect Session virtually, please follow the directions below:
- Step One: Visit the Campus Connect website
- Step Two: Click on Student Log In
- Step Three: Fill in your BHCC Username and click Continue.
- Step Four: Fill in your BHCC password and click Continue.
- Step Five: Log In and go through the virtual orientation.
For login or other issues, please contact the Dean of Students: deanofstudents@bhcc.edu
We encourage you to complete the virtual Campus Connect session in one sitting. However, if needed, you can pause, take breaks, and resume where you left off. This session is entirely self-paced, allowing you to go through it at a time that fits best with your schedule. You can view the segments all at once, or spread them out to suit your pace.
The best part is that you can take your time to write down important information you would like to remember. The content of this session will remain accessible online and will be updated periodically to ensure you always have the most current information and resources available.
3. Attend the Student Convocation
Convocation is an event that celebrates the start of the new semester. It is your official welcome to Bunker Hill Community College. Bring your friends and family members, meet your professors, learn about student clubs and organizations, enjoy music, food and meet your fellow classmates. Details for the 2025 Convocation will be available soon.
If you have questions about Student Convocation, please contact the Dean of Students at deanofstudents@bhcc.edu.
