BHCC students bring a wealth of experience and unique perspectives to the workplace. While many students come to BHCC directly after high school, the average age of our student body is 26. Many have already gained valuable work and life experience and are now seeking to transition into new career paths. With their diverse backgrounds and cultural strengths, our students enrich the workplace with fresh ideas and varied viewpoints. Combined with the academic preparation they receive at BHCC, our students make meaningful contributions to their employers in many ways.
Internships provide students with hands-on experience and insight into their chosen career paths. BHCC offers a number of Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and certificate programs. Please visit Programs of Study to see all that BHCC has to offer.
At BHCC, students can earn academic credits by participating in internship courses while completing an internship. Students required to do an internship or decide to do one will take the 3-credit internship course, which will help enhance the academic experience for students. All internships will need to be approved before beginning their internship. Students engage in activities that improve their knowledge of the practical world of work and help them gain professional experience.
Employers who host interns will receive full support from BHCC’s Internships & Career Development department, ensuring a productive and enriching experience for both the intern and the organization.
Post Jobs and Internships
Employers are encouraged to post positions ranging from internships to part-time to full-time jobs on Handshake, our online recruitment platform. Handshake is free and can be accessed by current BHCC students and alumni. Please note that students must complete 150 hours of internship work to be eligible for academic credit, and the internship must align with their program of study.
